Bianco Cave Awarded in Rome as One of the Best 100 Italian Excellences
A prestigious recognition for a Salentine company, awarded among the 100 Italian
excellences.
Bianco Cave srl, based in Melpignano, a leading company in the stone sector for the extraction and processing of Italian Limestone, received the award as an “Italian Excellence” in the world at Palazzo Montecitorio in Rome.
The valuable recognition was presented in the Hall of the Lupa at the Chamber of Deputies to
Gianni Bianco, one of the owners of the family-run business.
Bianco Cave, the only Salentine and Italian company in the sector, was honored “for its ability to
enhance Made in Italy as a globally recognized brand, a container of expressions of
craftsmanship in material processing.”
The company was selected by a scientific committee composed of professors from prestigious
universities such as Bocconi University in Milan, LUISS and La Sapienza in Rome, and the
University of Salento, as well as figures from the entertainment world, including Aurelio De
Laurentiis, Albano Carrisi, Bruno Vespa, and Alessandro Cecchi Paone.
To celebrate Italian excellences, a monograph was created by publisher Riccardo Dell’Anna, who
aimed to explore “the authenticity born from the perfect combination of tradition and
innovation, love and respect for the land, meticulous and laborious craftsmanship, and
advanced technologies.”
This publication tells 100 exemplary stories that have withstood the test of time and
circumstances—100 photographs of the present, worthy of entering the annals of history for
their strength and courage in upholding legality, technological innovation, research, and virtuous
examples in every field, offering hope for an economic and cultural renaissance of the Peninsula
worldwide.
With its 80 years of history, work, passion, tradition, and innovation in the stone sector, with 7
extraction quarries and two facilities for the processing and transformation of Italian Limestone,
Bianco Cave enters the pantheon of the 100 Italian Excellences.
“We are very happy with this recognition,” the company representatives say, “For several years
now, we have been working a lot abroad, and we are proud to represent Made in Italy
worldwide. This important achievement was made possible thanks to our entire staff and our
valuable collaborators, who share with us every day the desire to improve and reach new goals.”
The award, a stylized pinecone made of limestone, was designed and crafted by Bianco Cave,
following the organizers’ indication, and was chosen from various proposals designed by the
company’s designers.
